9,000 without power in Uptown New Orleans, Entergy says | Business News

About 9,000 people were without power in New Orleans on Monday morning, primarily Uptown, according to Entergy’s outage map.

The bulk of the outage is on the riverside of St. Charles Avenue by Audubon Park and Napoleon Avenue.

The power went out around 9:30 a.m. and should be restored by 11:30 a.m., according to the utility company.

Entergy hasn’t released the cause of the outage.

Traffic lights may not work

The outage includes several major thoroughfares – St. Charles Avenue, South Claiborne Avenue, Magazine Street, Tchoupitoulas Street, Jefferson Avenue and Napoleon Avenue.

If traffic lights aren’t working properly, drivers should treat the intersections as four-way stops.
