Climate and economic data
The historical provincial climate variables collected included monthly average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, precipitation (rain), snow, heating degree days, and cooling degree days. These data were all available through the monthly climate summaries distributed by the Government of Canada through the Digital Archive of Canadian Climatological Data (https://climate.weather.gc.ca/prods_servs/cdn_climate_summary_e.html). Future climate data were compiled from the Climate Atlas of Canada and Climate Data Canada portals (https://climateatlas.ca/find-local-data; https://climatedata.ca/download/). Both portals use data provided from the Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium downscaled regional model48,49. The data have been downscaled to 10 km resolution using bias correction based on constructed analogues and quantiles48,49.
