The Wall Street Journal is gathering prominent leaders in business and politics, including several members of President Biden’s cabinet, at its CEO Council summit on Monday and Tuesday for discussions on how CEOs can best navigate the current political and economic climate and roll with the risks.
The event is being held as Mr. Biden wraps up his first year in office—with an infrastructure bill signed into law, Democrats negotiating over a roughly $2 trillion social-spending package, and the U.S. military, after withdrawing from Afghanistan, bolstering defenses on Guam to counter China in the Pacific. Businesses, meanwhile, continue to confront challenges stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic, amid the uncertainty of the Omicron variant, as well as inflation, trade tensions, cybercrime, the effects of climate change and regulatory changes afoot.
