Kolkata, Sep 10 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized Rs seven crore in cash from the house of a businessman at Garden Reach in the city’s south western part during a raid on Saturday, officials claimed
The businessman N A Khan purportedly runs multiple businesses, including a mobile gaming app and is also a transporter.
The cash was found wrapped in plastic packets from under the bed on the first floor of the businessman’s house.
The money was in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes.
Bank employees were seen entering the house with eight counting machines to calculate the total amount of cash.
The ED, which trprobes the money trail of various scams, has been conducting multiple raids in and around Kolkata since Saturday morning.
The sleuths had fanned out in separate groups from the CGO complex in Salt Lake and searched at least five premises, including those on Park Street Mominpur and Garden Reach.
